eMAPT Certification Review and Exam

Hello everyone,

Recently, I successfully completed the eMapt certificate, which is the practice exam of eLearn Security, and was entitled to receive the certificate, and while the information was fresh, I decided to write a blog. First of all, I chose eLearn because there are not many certificate options related to mobile security and it is an applied certification exam, and there are not many alternatives actually. The only alternative was that SANS directed me to the eLearn side since it is a GMOB certificate and this certificate is a multiple choice exam.

For information about the exam and training , you can either take the training published by INE or buy the exam directly ( current price is $ 400 ) to get this certificate .

It offers free admission to a certification exam if you purchase annual training from the INE.
The trainings focus on the topics that the general penetration tester friends are aware of (it didn’t add much to me, frankly, I just skimmed through the trainings ☹). If you are a penetration tester, you can take the exam directly without training.

If you do not take an active role in penetration tests and do not develop android-side code, having done basic code development after receiving the training will earn you this certificate.
The reason is that the certificate requires 50% security information and 50% code information.

If we look at the educational content, there are android and IOS-oriented videos, pdf and labs (I did not solve it 😊)
There is IOS training in the training, but there is no IOS in the exam. The training contents form the standard basis.

After activating the certificate code, you must enter it within 6 months. If you get good at writing basic android code and understand basic security before you start working, you can pass the exam. ( I took the exam without studying 😊 )

Exam;

• The exam lasts seven days and you can test in your field whenever you want.
• As I said, the exam is only on android.
• You are expected to develop a malicious apk in the exam and you have to upload this malicious application and its source codes to the system within 7 days. There is no need to write a report.

If we look at the shortcomings of education and certification,
Cons, of course, as with any certificate, eLearn certificates and exams also have.
First of all, it is a shortcoming in my opinion that it is only android-sided. I expected it to be on iOS.
I would expect them to prioritize security rather than prioritizing coding.
There is no inspector in the exam, which in my opinion lowers the value of the certificate.
(although there are certificates that are supervisors and these certificates are worthless in my eyes, that’s a separate issue 😊)
Although it has these shortcomings, I chose to get the eLearn Emapt certificate because there is no equivalent certificate, it was a very simple exam for me, but unfortunately there is no different certificate 😊
I hope the information was useful.

See you in my next certification adventure.. CRTO coming soon 😊
